Silom is Bangkok's most infamous gay area. It caters laregely to the international crowd, both tourists and expats. In Silom there are Soi 4, Soi 2 and Boystown, or Soi Twilight, all in close proximity to each other.
At night there is a wonderful market lining the main Silom road with a great range of stylish fashion items. After all it's the gay area of Bangkok.
Silom soi 4, the center of gay Bangkok
Soi 4 in Silom is often the destination for gay visitors to Bangkok. This soi consists of a number of bars (some have hit world fame) that are friendly to a foreign audience. Expect western food and western prices. Silom Soi 4 is a place to hang out, sit back and relax with a cold beer, a cocktail or even a glass of wine while you watch gay boys from all over the world parade by. There aren't any Go-Go bars here, if you're looking for those you should check out the nearby Boystown. Mind the mamu happy hours and promotions as they can relieve your wallet and at some of the bars. Some happy hour lasts all night.
Silom Soi 2 holds some of Bangkok's most famous gay nightclubs
Silom Soi 2 is where the party's at. Easy to miss, this soi looks more like a small alley or even an entrance to a tucked away restaurant. Walk inside it though (at night there is security and locker service posted in front) and you'll find some of the most famous gay clubs and discos in Bangkok.
Soi Twilight / Boystown
In Soi Twilight is pretty much the gay red light district of Bangkok, with a delightful lineup of male gay go-go bars and sensual gay massage shops. You'll find the street is buzzing with boys as they'll do their best to charm you into their lovely bars and loving arms.
A hidden gem in Soi Twilight is delicious in an unexpected way. One of Bangkok's most legendary and laid back gay restaurants is located right at the epicenter of lustfullness. Check out Dick's cafe while you're there.
